Celia Wird and her three sisters are just like other 20-something girls—with one tiny exception: they're products of a backfired curse that has given each of them unique powers that make them, well, weird…

Celia’s a girl in trouble. Her heart is bound to Aric, but he is a pureblood were who must deny her or risk condemning his species to extinction. And that’s just her love life. She’s also been called to take down a group of demon terrorists looking to overthrow the paranormal world. (No pressure.)

In order to bring them down, Celia must ally herself to Misha, the master vampire who has made no secret of his desire for her.

And if that weren’t enough misfortune for one girl, a clairvoyant’s prediction could destroy Celia and Aric’s love for good. The only way to protect the world from unbridled supernatural terrorism is for Celia to bind herself to her destined mate. And that doesn’t appear to be Aric…

Qwill's Thoughts:

In Cursed by Destiny, a title that has more than one meaning for me, Cecy Robson ups the stakes for the Wird sisters and goes darker the ever before.

The same wonderful cast of characters are back: Celia and her sisters, Aric (Celia's mate who she can't be with) and the werewolves, Misha and his vampires. There are some new interesting characters as well that I enjoyed. The Tribe (the evil that wants to rule the world) is back too.

Celia's relationship with Misha is explored more in Cursed by Destiny. I love the interactions between them. I actually like Misha more than Aric, but only because Misha is the head of his vampires and can do what he wants where as Aric is constrained by the rules of the Elders of his pack, which are preventing him from being with Celia. Aric is trying to do what is required of him and marry someone who is not his mate to perpetuate a pureblooded line of werewolves, but it is putting a huge strain on him and his beast.

Celia continues to train and live at Misha's estate. She's developing her powers and agility, which is very important as the Tribe is after her. Celia's sisters, Emme, Taran, and Shayna, are each interesting and well-developed, characters whose own talents are developing as well. Emme begins to deal with the trauma she previously suffered at the hands of the Tribe. The werewolf boyfriends and/or husbands of Celia's sisters are terrific as usual.

Celia, her sisters, the wolves and vampires fight the Tribe in various locations - Patagonia, Africa, Nicaragua and Tahoe. The action sequences were really well done!  The intrigues and plots kept me guessing throughout the entire novel.

I found Cursed by Destiny a much darker novel than the prior novels in the series. It's also an incredibly emotional novel as Celia deals with Aric's upcoming marriage and much more. The last quarter of the novel is a rollercoaster ride with so much happening that I was left stunned... and really looking forward to the next novel.
