Winners x 14 - February 5, 2012

So many winnners!!

The Rook by Daniel O'Malley - Ended January 21, 2012 - Read the interview here.

Question:  If you worked for a secret governmental agency dealing with the supernatural, what would your job be?

rissatoo who said:

Fab interview! (And great review, too!) I really can hardly wait to read The Rook.

Now, as far as the question, my first inclination is to say something wild, like I'd be a handler - someone who interacts and directs with the 'agents'.. But if I'm honest, I'd probably be in some very mundane section, like accounting - and very likely a very small cog in the machine. :p

Babylon Steel by Gaie Sebold (5 copies) - Ended January 24, 2012 - Read the interview here. UK/US/Canada ONLY

Question:  Which books or movies are you looking forward to in 2012?

1)  Lexi who said:

Can't wait to read about this city! Your book sounds great! A fun interview to read!

I am waiting to see the Huntsman, even though I am not a fan of the girl from Twilight I am a sucker for anything fairy tale.

2)  Stephanie who said:

I'm looking forward to A Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison.

3)  Barbara E. who said:

In books, I'm looking forward to Allison Pang's A Sliver of Shadow, Stacey Jay's Blood on the Bayou, Ann Aguirre's Devil's Punch, and Kevin Hearne's Tricked. In movies, I'm looking forward to The Avengers, Underworld: Awakening, John Carter, Men In Black III and Dark Shadows.

4)  kara-karina@Nocturnal Book Reviews who said:

Definitely looking forward to Avengers, Brave and Raven. Also Gunmetal Magic and Sacrificial Magic in books.

5)  ML who said:

I'm looking forward to the new Underworld movie (guilty pleasure), One for the Money and Hunger Games. I think the book I'm most looking forward to is Iced by Karen Marie Moning.

Haunted Warrior by Allie Mackay (signed) - Ended January 26, 2012 - Read the guest blog here.

Question:  Kilts or jeans? Which should your Highlander be wearing?

kansassweet43 who said:

Well I would have to say both, a kilt and jeans. The kilt just for me (you know so I can run my hands here and there), and some tight fittin jeans, well what can you say about those. Some guys just look fine in a pair of jeans. :)

Choice of signed ARC of An Affair with Mr. Kennedy (The Gentlemen of Scotland Yard 1) or The Seduction of Phaeton Black (Phaeton Black, Paranormal Investigator 1) by Jillian Stone - Ended January 26, 2012 - Read the guest blog here.

Question:  Which Sherlock is your favorite?

Vivien who said:

I love the new Robert Downey version. Too funny!

Deliver Me from Darkness (Paladin Warriors 1) by Tes Hilaire - Ended January 27, 2012 - Read the guest post here. US/CANADA ONLY

Question:  Do you have any favorite flawed alpha males or females?

traci16 who said:

First of all, your story sounds really intriguing. I think one of the most flawed characters I have read about was Louis in Interview with the Vampire. He just cant reconcile who and what he has become with what he has lost......

Banshee Charmer (From the Files of the Otherworlder Enforcement Agency 1) ecopy by Tiffany Allee - Ended January 30, 2012 - Read the guest blog here.

Question:  Which paranormal being or beings do you think is/are most misunderstood?

bn100 who said:

I think demons are the most understood.

The Thorn and the Blossom by Theodora Goss - Ended January 31, 2012 - Read the interview here. US/Canada ONLY

Question:   Which unresolved love story or stories would you like to see have a happy ending(s)?

Linda McDonald who said:

I would say Salander and Blomquist in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" series. At the end of the series you really don't know where they stand...it seems to me like they are just friends, but I'd like to think that maybe they have a happier romantic ending. The books are not romances, but I am curious as to what the author (who sadly is deceased) felt about the ending to their story and if he thinks they were together or not.

Alpha Instinct (Moon Shifter 1) by Katie Reus - Ended February 1, 2012 - Read the interview here. US ONLY

Question:  What is your favorite type of paranormal being? (shifter, vampire, etc.)

Victoria who said:

I'd have to go with my first love Vampires though Larissa Ione and Gena Showalter's demons run a close second.

Firelight (Darkest London 1) by Kristen Callihan - Ended February 3, 2012 - Read the interview here. US/Canada ONLY

Question:  What is/are your favorite fairytale(s)?

LadyVampire2u who said:

Congrats on your upcoming release of Firelight! My favorite fairy tales are Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. I know that is a bunch but I love my fairy tales. Beauty and the beast is my top favorite though. :)

Immortal Hope (The Curse of the Templars 1) by Claire Ashgrove - Ended February 4, 2012 - Read the interview here.

Question:  Which historical person(s) would you like to have dinner with?

Leah Weller who said:

Claire, the book sounds right up my alley! History is a passion of mine also. I added this to the list of books to look for that seems to be rapidly growing, but I added a check beside it being as I felt drawn to it. I love finding new to me authors :)

If I could have dinner with someone from the past, who would it be? That's a hard question for me and I couldn't narrow it down to just one so I'm adding two. William the Conqueror and King Henry the ll. Gotta love those Plantagenents! I would have many questions for both but the most important one would be to ask what was the one thing that happened in their life that was THE defining moment that made them who they were.
